SPACE.com - PARIS - Israel’s Amos-3 telecommunications satellite was successfully placed in geostationary orbit on Monday aboard the maiden flight of the Russian-Ukrainian Land Launch system, setting the stage for what the satellite fleet operators hope will be a lively competition between Land Launch - affiliated to Be Launch Co. of Long Beach, California - and Russian Soyuz rockets launched from Europe’s space equatorial.
